At our crops we offer creative stimulation in the form of challenges. This year we are celebrating our 5th year of business and have been having fun finding unique ways of incorporating 5 into our layouts.
This challenge is to use 5 different pattern papers on one layout! This one was fun for me because I LOVE PAPER!! I really truly do! I love the colors, patterns, the themes! I love cutting it, punching it, inking it and stamping it! I use it as backgrounds, matte photos with it, cut titles and images with it! There is no end to my love...and possible addiction to it! ;)

one for one
hi, guys! mandie here to share a layout using some of the brand new dear lizzy Neapolitan line. it is super scrumptious. the colors are awesome. randi & amy have limited quantities of the kits that the design team used this month available at the crop!
i decided to go with a simple layout about my love of TOMS shoes. i am a wee bit obsessed with these shoes & may or may not have more than what is in this layout. (where is a blushing emoticon when you need it!?)
i used the "one" on the pattern paper & a "one" button to make the title. i then stitched around it make it stand out a little more. this is a super simple layout. but, i like it. Monday, March 5, 2012

Scrap Again Design Team Kit - December
December Kit- Sneak Peak
The Scrap Again Elf's are busy busy busy planning for the holidays and excited to show you a sneak peak of the December kit. The kit includes pattern paper from the 'Fresh Goods' line, created by PEBBLES (now owned by American Crafts). And... what is so fun about the red/white pattern paper is that that the polka dots are raised for instant texture!
Kit Includes:
- Fresh Goods - Freshly Picked
- Fresh Goods - Come Again
- Fresh Goods - Penny Candy
- Bazzill Card Stock
- Bingo Chips
- Playing Cards
- Ribbon and Flowers

Bingo chips are fun embellishments to add to you layouts. The numbers can represent so many things like; the date of someones birthday, a jersey number, or how many family members you have. Be on the look out for fun game pieces that could be used for scrapbooking embellishments.
And... don't throw away those old decks of cards missing a card or two... they make great embellishments in your layouts!

SADT October Kit... product from 'Amy Tangerine'
The SADT October kit could possibly be our favorite kit of the year! We couldn't wait to work with the new 'Amy Tangerine' line from American Crafts... and all the fun goodies we found to go with it. The fabric flowers are from Basic Grey, and the fun colored pre-sewn fabric strips we found at our local fabric store.
'Amy Tangerine' really did a great job designing this line... creating fun papers to work with and using a unique color pallet (probably not anything I would typically choose!). The choice of pattern patter; from flowers, to wood grain, and dots, creates texture on your pages and all together works great. It just so happened that I decided to make this a golf layout... and then I found the coordinating sticker "A slice of the good life". It was the perfect sticker to add, playing off of the word 'slice' as it relates to the game of golf.
I don't have a sewing machine YET (my birthday is coming up though!) and I love the look of fabric and stitching on scrapbook layouts, it just seems to really complete the page. We found these great fabric strips at the local fabric store. They come in a pack of about 12, and there were a few coordinating colors to choose from. (We found them by the pre-cut quilting strips.)
Embellishment and alpha stickers are also 'Amy Tangerine' by American craft. But if you already have fabric Thickers, use a marker to make stitch like marks for the same look.
The chevron pattern (zig-zag) is everywhere! Cut along the pattern for a fun edge.
Can't wait for 'Amy Tangerine' to come out with her new line, it was so fun to work with this one. (BTW... love her name too!) I'll be sure to include this layout in our Design Center albums for the crop on Nov. 19 too!

September Design Team Layouts- Marcie Morgan
Design Team Member - Marcie Morgan
Try something new! Marcie created two focal points on her layout by splitting her pattern paper and matting photos. This layout would also work great for a "before and after"or "then and now" inspired layout. The banner at the bottom makes this layout trendy too!
Pink and green go so great together and also makes her card sweet and delicious!
More September inspired layouts to come... and the sneak peak of the October kit... COMING SOON!

3 Days of inspiration from the SADT - September Layouts
The past few weeks have been extra busy for us, as we have been wrapping up those last few tasks following the Sept. 17th consignment sale and crop. We can't wait to share with you some pictures and highlights from the event, but we didn't want you to wait any longer to see and share some fun and exciting layouts our Design Team members made with the September kit... (and not to mention that it is the last day in the month too!) We will be featuring each Design Team member over the next few days.. so be sure to follow the blog and get inspire!
Design Team Member - Mandie Pierce
Mandi shows us this month how easy it is to take the same design layout and apply it three different ways.
1. Double layout
2. Single Layout
3. Card
Although these cute and trendy flags you see in the layouts came pre-made in their kits, they are just as easy to make too!... and we can show you how at the next crop (Oct. 15)... just ask us!
Read about how Mandie created these layouts and more on her blog Like a Lemon to a Lime.

Scrap Again Design Team Kit - September
Sneak peak at the September Design Team Kit
Don't worry... your not reading double! We posted this sneak peak back in August, and then realized it was our September kit. OOOoops! So here it is again... and we still love this line!
We fell in love with this whole line from Pink Paisley! We know you will simply LOVE what our DT has done with this product too!
Don't have the fancy embellies? Make them yourself! It's easy to make the small flags using scrap paper and toothpicks. We will even have tooth picks at the October 15th crop so you can try making them too!Love the look of the ruler? Try cutting a strip of paper and using a white (or black) pen to create your own custom ruler!
Stay tuned for Mandie's, Taraleigh's and Marcie's inspiring layouts!

Labor Day Weekend - Day 3 Inspiration (Mandie)
Keep those trimmers going... It's day 3 of our Labor Day Scrapbook Weekend and Mandie keeps us going with a double layout and a couple of cards!
We typically think a title needs to go at the top or bottom of a layout, right?... But you will find that Mandie mixes up the placement of her tittles by placing them on the left and even right side sometimes too! By adding a journaling card on the right and the title on the left, the layout is balanced. Grounding her matted photos with two strips of paper at the bottom, and only using a few simple embellishments, puts this double layout in the 30 minute our less category!
Mandie uses the same design idea, strips of pattern paper or ribbon at the bottom, for the cards too. Do you have extra tags in your scrap-stash?... if so, try making this card to use up those scraps and get the most out of your supplies.
A little bit of stiching on the sun makes this card shine!

Labor Day Weekend - Day 2 Inspiration (Taraleigh)
It's day 2!... and time to keep those trimmers going with inspiring layouts from Taraleigh!!
Grab those circle punches and create your own embellishment like Taraleigh did! Just a few circles and some buttons make for budget friendly embellishments. Journaling doesn't always have to be on a tag. Taraleigh shows us how journaling around the pictures makes for a matting effect.
And this is why we love double sided pattern paper! Taraleigh used both sides from 3 different pattern paper (Crate Paper) to create the block of pattern paper below her photos. Using coordinating paper from one paper line, really takes out the 'work' of trying to find coordinating paper from your scrap-stash. Taraleigh also shows in this layout that your photos don't always have to be centered to create a GREAT layout. Try off setting them a bit from center and see how this style can 'work' too!
Thanks Taraleigh for another set of great layouts!
Keep those trimmers going... we will have more layouts tomorrow from Mandie!
Be sure to register now for the September 17 crop to secure your spot... seats are going fast!

Labor Day Weekend - Day 1 Inspiration (Marcie)
Ok, so it has been a busy summer for all of us here at Scrap Again and we thought you could use a little scrappy inspiration over the labor day weekend! For the next 3 days we will be posting layouts for you to scrap-lift this Labor Day Weekend... who ever said that scrapbooking needed to be a 'labor' of love!
Labor Day Weekend Inspiration- Day 1
Marcie has the perfect layouts to kick off the next 3 days and to get those trimmers started!
I love how she used this Crate Paper line to share an all-american visit to the fair as well as show-off her adorable daughter! You can almost hear her laughing in these energetic pictures! I am once again WOW'd by her use of embellishments! Mine are feeling (A LOT) jealous! I know my adhesive is ready to play with buttons and flowers and paper! Let Marcie know what you love about her August layouts!
Have a wonderful Labor Day weekend! May you spend it scrappin' hard!
